This module covers the knowledge, skills and attitudes in receiving and processing reservations. It details the requirements for receiving reservation request, recording details of reservation, updating reservations and advising others on reservation details.

Nominal Duration: 64 hours

 At the end of this module, you MUST be able to:

UC 2: OPERATE COMPUTERIZED RESERVATION SYSTEM

UC 2: OPERATE COMPUTERIZED RESERVATION SYSTEM

This is the second unit competency of the course Front Office Services NC II. This unit of competency deals with the skills and knowledge required in using a computerized reservations system to create bookings for a range of tourism or hospitality services.  

Nominal Duration: 48 HOURS 

At the end of this unit you are expected to do the following: 

 
1. Operate computerized reservation system based on property standards. 

2. Create and process reservation

3.Send and receive reservation communications

 

UC 3: PROVIDE ACCOMMODATION RECEPTION SERVICES

UC 3: PROVIDE ACCOMMODATION RECEPTION SERVICES

This is the third unit competency of Front Office Services NC II .This module covers the knowledge, skills and attitudes in providing accommodation reception services required to provide arrival, in-stay and departure services to guests in commercial and accommodation establishments. 

Nominal duration : 96 HOURS

At the end of this unit you are expected to do the following:

1.   Prepare reception area for guest arrival

2.   Welcome and register  guests  

3.    Computerize reservation system is operated

4.  Perform “During Stay” functions

5.   Organize guest departure

6.     Prepare front office records and report

 


UC 4: CONDUCT NIGHT AUDIT

UC 4: CONDUCT NIGHT AUDIT

This is the fourth unit of competency of Front Office Services NC II. This unit deals with the skills and knowledge required in conducting night audit to check and reconcile daily financial transactions and records, and produce reports relating to establishment operations and revenue.

Nominal Duration: 32 HOURS

At the end of this unit you are expected to do the following:

1. Process internal financial instructions

2. Complete routine records and reports 

UC 5: Provide Club Reception Services

UC 5: Provide Club Reception Services

This the fifth unit competency of Front Office Services NC II. This module covers the knowledge skills and attitudes in providing club reception services required to offer reception services within a licensed club environment. 

Nominal Duration : 32 HOURS 

At the end of this unit you are expected to :

1. provide information on club services and process memberships

2. monitor entry club


UC 6 : PROVIDE CONCIERGE and BELL SERVICES

UC 6 : PROVIDE CONCIERGE and BELL SERVICES

This is the sixth unit competency of Front Office Services NC II. This unit covers the knowledge, skills and attitude in providing concierge and bell services required  for handling guest arrival and departures, handling guest luggage and responding to requests for bell desk services .

Nominal Duration: 64 HOURS 

At the end of this unit you are expected to: 

1. Handle guest arrivals and departures 

2. Handle guest luggage

3. Respond to request 

4. Manage intoxicated persons

UC 7 : PROVIDE CASHIERING SERVICES

UC 7 : PROVIDE CASHIERING SERVICES

This is the last unit of competency of Front Office Services NC II. This unit covers the knowledge, skills and attitudes in providing cashiering services. It details the requirements to provide cashiering service of a Front Office personnel

Nominal Duration: 64 hours

 At the end of this unit you are expected to: 

1. Prepare guest folio

2. Collect cash,cash equivalent or non cash transactions

3. Process receipts and payments

4. Reconcile financial transactions at the end of the shift
