Chemistry for Engineers

Chemistry for Engineers

This course is designed with the Engineering student in mind and endeavors to show the relationship between chemistry and engineering. It is Applications-based rather than Principles-based.

SUPERVISED IINDUSTRY TRAINING 1

SUPERVISED IINDUSTRY TRAINING 1

This course refers to Industrial Training program which aims to provide supervised practical training and exposure of students/trainees within a specified timeframe in a related industry. This training can be carried out either in government and private industries.

WELDING PROCESS 3

WELDING PROCESS 3

This course covers the knowledge, skills and attitudes in welding carbon steel plates and pipes using gas metal arc welding and flux-cored arc welding processes. The materials to be welded ranges from small to bigger diameter and with different thicknesses/schedule numbers. It also includes techniques and procedures in welding different joints configuration and parameters acceptable to industry standards. The welding procedure and the acceptance criteria of the weld joint shall be in accordance to AWS D1.1 and ASME Section IX.

Pipe Lay-Out and Pipe Fit-Up

Pipe Lay-Out and Pipe Fit-Up

The PIPEFITTING (METALLIC) NC II qualification consists of competencies that worker must achieve to enable them to perform tasks applied to rigid piping such as structural pipes, main pipes and services pipes as applied to water, oil and gas lines.

Welding Process 2

Welding Process 2

The Shielded Metal arc Welding (SMAW NC II) Qualification consists of competencies that a person must achieve to weld carbon steel pipes, components as specified by lay out, blueprints, diagrams, work order, welding procedure or oral instructions using shielded metal arc welding equipment.

This qualification conforms with;

  • American Welding Society (AWS) D1.1
  • Structural Welding Code
  • American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASMI) IX
  • Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code
  • American Petroleum Institute (API) 1104 Code for Gas and Pipeline Facilities
  • International Standards Organization (ISO) 96061 Qualification of Welders for Steel
